"Beverly Alford, PhD is a staunch advocate for play. An Associate Professor of Early Childhood, her focus is on children, birth to seven years. She is fascinated by how children develop in play-based settings and the effects of standardized practices on children. Her background is rich in experiences in public and private sectors.
Dr. Alford has created professional development for administrators, teachers, and parents and designed undergraduate and graduate early childhood programs. She worked as a practitioner with pre-kindergarteners and served as a coach to early educators.
